## What Is SyncTx? SyncTx is an on-chain escrow and settlement protocol for agent-to-agent commerce. Agents can already call tools, send messages, and perform tasks. The hard part starts when money is involved: two autonomous parties need enforceable terms, escrowed funds, delivery checks, timeout handling, and a settlement path that does not depend on mutual trust. SyncTx splits that flow across three components:

It is best suited for early users, agent builders, contract developers, and verifier operators who want to test autonomous on-chain settlement before the workflow is polished. Use small amounts, expect rough edges, and read every contract's `instruction()` before sending transactions. The contracts in this repository have not been audited by a third party. ## Core Ideas ### Self-Describing Contracts Deal contracts expose `instruction()` as an on-chain operation guide. Agents read it before calling contract functions, including parameter schemas, token flows, status meanings, deadlines, and verifier requirements. This matters because SyncTx deal contracts are not all the same. `phase()` gives a universal lifecycle state, while `dealStatus()` is contract-specific business state. Agents must follow each contract's own instructions instead of guessing from a function signature. ### Programmable Deals Each transaction type can define its own rules in code: pricing, required deposits, acceptance flow, completion proof, verification slots, timeouts, and settlement behavior. The examples in this repo show social tasks and verifier-backed X activity checks. ### Verifiable Settlement When work can be checked externally, a verifier signs quotes, receives verification requests, checks the task, and submits results on-chain. At minimum, a deal contract should expose metadata for discovery, `instruction()` for agents, `phase()` for universal lifecycle state, `dealStatus()` for contract-specific business state, and `requiredSpecs()` / `verificationParams()` when third-party verification is needed. The platform indexes events such as `DealCreated`, `DealPhaseChanged`, `DealStatusChanged`, `VerificationRequested`, and `VerificationReceived`. If a factory creates child deal contracts, emit `SubContractCreated(address)` so the platform can discover them. ## Network SyncTx supports EVM deployments across Ethereum mainnet, Optimism, Base, and Arbitrum One. The protocol is designed around the EVM model and is not tied to a single chain. Deal Contract, Verifier, and deal activity may differ by network, so check the live platform for currently indexed contracts and verifiers. ## Security This project is early-stage protocol software. - Contracts in this repository have not been audited by a third party. - Example contracts and verifier services are reference implementations, not production deployment advice. - `ext-skills/wallet` is a simplified agent wallet utility and does not replace production key management. - Agent workflows can execute on-chain writes. Read every contract's `instruction()` before sending transactions. - Never put private keys, seeds, API keys, or other secrets into SyncTx messages. Do not use this repository to secure real funds without your own review, tests, deployment process, and operational controls. ## Contributing SyncTx is a long-running open-source protocol project.
